Construction Materials

Course content
Course participants will get acquainted with types of building materials and their basic properties. Based on this knowledge, participants will be able to recognise in practice the material solution of load-bearing and assembly structures and assess their suitability. They will understand the use of the most widely adopted construction materials (stone and gravel, ceramic products, metal and alloy elements, binders, mortars and concretes, wood, glass, insulation) in structures and how the materials’ properties ensure their function, reliability and durability. The course is not only theoretical, but contains also practical examples.
